Grab the mirror, it's time to reflect!

As a 9th grader having my first high school art class I definitely think I have grown during the experiences and have gotten better as an artist all together. Throughout the year I have learned many new technics that will and have helped me grow as an artist. I'm proud of all the hard work and effort I have made towards the projects given this year. I feel like the things I thought were hard have helped me and also that making the clay story pole has helped me become know and better at using and sculpting clay. Knowing that my art is a big part of me I feel that my role in this whole year was to try and connect myself with my art the best that I could.

Memories, memories, memories!!

My time capsule is full of little odds and ends that describe who I am. There are two special things I would like to share. One of the items I put in my time capsule is pictures. There are pictures of my friends and I taken during fun times we have spent together. Also I have two necklace charms in my box one is a cross and the other is a half heart that says "big sister". Both charms represent something special and important in my life. Not knowing when I might open my box I know that I will forget the things inside and the day I open it will be another memory looking in to past memories.

Growing Together with Faith

In 6th grade I started going to youth group and I didn't really know everyone. As we started going on trips our friendships grew. Cry fest is a big part of our Keswick trip that helps build our trust in each other. The more connections we make and with every hike and meal we share our friendship has grown. Last year we thought that we couldn't tell each other everything. Through out the summer we grew so much more. Together we learned how to have trust and vulnerability for each other. This has made me realize how deeply we really care for each other. We have a hand print cross on the wall, we all hold hands when we pray, and we talk and tell each other everything. Through it all our friendships grow more and more and they are the strongest they have ever been. We are all so proud of who we have become, that we wouldn't change it for anything.

Stamp It!

I choose to create a stamp of a tootsie pop. Drawing on the stamp was a great experience. The best part was carving it out so that only the tootsie pop showed when I stamped it. Having a stamp with just a tootsie pop was kinda boring so to give it a pop I drew the pop kind of decoration around it. Stamping it was so cool. We could use all different colors of paint and even the paper. We crated print after print.

Art x3 Passed on!

This project was started by someone identified by a number. Later it was passed to someone else. The second numbered person added to it, and lastly I ended up with it and had to add anything that I thought was needed for this project. We had a theme that needed to be followed. The theme was celebrity. My thoughts when I received the piece was "Wow what am I gonna be able to do with this". The corner read " Where am I going?" I thought about it for a while and that's when I thought about making it like a little map. Right away I got to work I found a star and wrote next to it "You are here". With a nice dotted line I followed it to where I had placed the word Hollywood. Behind in the darkness of the picture I had seen two hands and I
thought that could symbolized that no matter where you are going you will always be safe.

Lucky cookies, fortune cookies.

This art project was inspired by six fortune cookies. I cracked open all six and read the fortunes over and over. I read all the learn Chinese words and even the lucky numbers. Using all of those things i created a work of art. The learn Chinese and the fortunes inspired me to create my art the most. I could right words in Chinese and even the symbols. I didn't think I could make art out of the fortune cookies but I did and it was a great experience.

Creative Collections

I collect key chains. I get a new key chain almost everywhere I go, I also get one  if a family member goes away because they most likely bring me one back. I collect because it helps keep a memory of where i went and that's why i choose key chains. My key chains are all different colors, shapes, and places. My collection is unlike Portia Munson. Portia Munson has collections with all different items, but they are all the same color.
